Welcome!
Hello, You -
Neighborful Station is a story-based meditation podcast, set in a fictional small town in Pennsylvania. Every Saturday, we tell a 10-minute story from a small town that's big enough for all of us.
Our listeners love it here.
Here's what they have to say about Neighborful Station:
“I’ve adopted the show as a commuting treat. It is reminding me of my own values.”
“I’ve been sitting in meditation with the show playing, just letting the words
drop into my mind. And it’s all good.”
“This show is giving us the courage to say yes.”
You belong here.
Whether you love the place where you live, or you long for a place you can truly call home, Neighborful Station can help you stay connected with your love of community.
If you're the kind of person who borrows a friend's car, and then returns it with a full tank of gas, you belong here.
If you've ever had a neighbor stop by and bring you fresh veggies from their garden, and felt grateful for the place where you live, you belong here.
If you look out in the world, in all our struggles to understand each other, and wonder about what we can do when we choose to work together, you belong here.
Come and visit.
The best way to get to know us is by listening to an episode. You can jump in pretty much anywhere - the episodes are lightly serialized, meaning you will get to know the folks in town over time, but you don't need to know anything about the town or the people to get benefits from visiting.
One of my favorites to recommend is Alumni Weekend, in which a famous musician comes back home to Neighborful Station and visits their childhood piano teacher. It's a very sweet story, and you can listen to it right here:
After that, try whatever sounds good to you. We also have Sleep Editions of each episode, in case you'd like to listen as you fall asleep. The 10-minute story is still the same, but the soundscape of the town continues for a full hour, so you can fall asleep in Neighborful Station.
Thanks so much for visiting. Let me know if there's anything I can do to make your stay more comfortable. I'm so glad you are here.
Kind regards, Michael
