Our New Name
On September 1st, Postcards from Jubilee Station changed our name to Neighborful Station. This page will explain how we’re going to make this change, and why.
Why Change the Name? Why Now?
When I started this project in early 2025, I wanted to find a name that reflected the hopes and joys that I was feeling about this new work. The term “jubilee” is an old one, full of both historical meaning and modern inspiration. It resonated with me. I played around with some combos of place name words, and discovered that “Jubilee Station” was a fairly unique name in the US.
What I did not realize when I started is that a popular YouTube channel goes by the name Jubilee. The founder actually chose that name at the start of his own journey for many of the same reasons I made my choice. But over time, his project has evolved.
We are doing very different things.
I’ve decided to change the name of my show because I want to make sure we don’t confuse people. I haven’t been sued, and I haven’t received any stern letters from lawyers. I’ve just come to the conclusion that people deserve clarity, from both me and the other guys. They aren’t the first to use the term Jubilee for their work, but they’re the loudest voice using it right now.
Our town’s new name, Neighborful Station, is more unique online, and more evocative of what we’re doing here as a community.
Thanks so much for bearing with me through this change.
Kind regards, Michael
